Nancy L. Jarvis of South Bend, Ind., died in her home from ongoing health complications on Dec. 18, 2018. She was 84 years old.

Nancy Frederick was born on Jan. 14, 1934, to Thomas and Irene Frederick in Ellicott City, Md. At an early age, she professed her love in Jesus Christ and was an active member of Ocean Shores United Methodist Church in Ocean Shores, Wash., where she lived until 2016 before relocating to South Bend and joining South Bend First Brethren Church.

She was united in holy matrimony to Douglas Jarvis on June 1, 1953, in Ellicott City, Md. The union was blessed with six children.

Nancy was a crafty lady, especially interested and accomplished in needle point, crochet and wreath making. She also enjoyed bowling and was a member of a league for a number of years.

A kind and nurturing women, Nancy was loved by many and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Alice McCauley and Rose Marie Sullivan, and her son-in-law, Rod Morgan Sr.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her husband, Douglas, and her children: Mark (Terri) Jarvis of Saint Charles, Mo., Judy Morgan of South Bend, Doug “Buddy” Jarvis of Federal Way, Wash., Lisa (Edwin) Hoffmann of Buckley, Wash., Valerie (Tony) Frankum of Jacksonville, Ala., and Sarah (Jerry) Wilson of Manila, Ark.; 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Nancy will be at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at the First Brethren Church, 4909 Ironwood Road, South Bend, IN 46614, with Rev. Fred Youngen and Hospice Chaplain Trevor Foley officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the church.
