Warren Lewis Edwards, 92, passed away Dec. 26, 2018 in Olympia, Wash., his home the past 15 years.

Warren Lewis Edwards, 92, passed away Dec. 26, 2018 in Olympia, Wash., his home the past 15 years. Born in Montesano, Wash., on July 15, 1926, Warren lived in Pacific Beach and Carlisle, Wash., until 1936. He graduated from Aberdeen’s Weatherwax High School.

Warren served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater and was involved with the occupation of Japan. He was honorably discharged in November 1946.

Warren was a truck driver by profession. He owned and drove a logging truck in Forks and Port Angeles, Washington for seven years, and drove a freight truck for ONC in Aberdeen as a Teamster for 28 years, retiring in 1984.

On July 17, 2018, Warren celebrated 72 years of marriage to the love of his life, Pearl E. (King) Edwards.

Survivors are his wife, Pearl of Tumwater; daughters, Noel Walker of Tumwater, Kay and Paul Heikkila of Coquille, Ore.; sister, Veronica Sandmire of Bremertion Wash.; and grandchildren, Danelle Heikkila and Cliff Shaw of Portland, Ore., Tanya Heikkila and Todd Ely of Denver, Colo., Daryl and Melissa Walker of Fairbanks, Alaska, Joel Walker of Wasilla, Alaska, Dena Pearl Edwards and Armando Puga-Rosa of Hoquiam, Wash., Brendan and Trisha Edwards of Olympia, and Johnnie and Brett Dziedziak of Olympia. He also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his mother, Lucille Edwards; sons, William Lewis Edwards and Richard Warren Edwards; seven brothers; and three sisters.

Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, 1:30 p.m. at Eagles Landing Club House, 2257 Eagles Lane SW, Tumwater, WA 98501. Memorial donations may be made to the MS Society.
