Chocolate on the Beach

The annual Chocolate on the Beach Festival in Pacific Beach is Feb. 21-24 with a Sci-Fi theme this year: “Chocolate is out of this World!”

It is the 11th year of the event that started as a small fundraiser for the Museum of the North Beach, and now includes what is called the 13 miles of chocolates, including Moclips, Aloha, Copalis Crossing, Seabrook, Copalis Beach and Ocean City.

The Chocolate on the Beach Festival supports organizations and groups in the North Beach area with grants and donations for historical, educational and community projects. This year, $6,000 in grant funds and auction baskets were given, marking more than $41,000 donated back to the community in the past seven years

“This is a fun, family festival offering something for every chocolate lover. There are chocolate vendors, artists, and crafters. You can attend a cooking class or enter your favorite recipe in the recipe contest. How about entering a chocolate eating contest? You can do all this and so much more. Attendees will find chocolate that is gluten free, dairy free, vegan, organic, fair trade, and even chocolate themed crafts,” according to a the festival’s website: chocolateonthebeachfestival.com.
