Batman strikes Aberdeen … twice

Aberdeen police officers pulled over a DUI suspect wearing a Batman outfit just after 1 a.m. Sunday. The man explained he was dressed for a costume party he had attended at the Elks Lodge. An outstanding warrant was confirmed, a field sobriety test administered and he was arrested for DUI and the warrant. Soon thereafter, police responded to an assault report at the Elks Lodge. The victim said he was assaulted by a man in a Batman costume. Both incidents Lieutenant Kevin Darst said are believed to be related.

Officer arranges lift for dog after DUI arrest

Early Sunday morning an Aberdeen officer saw a vehicle stopped for no apparent reason at a flashing yellow light on Boone Street. After observing the driver weaving over the Chehalis River Bridge the officer pulled him over and discovered he had an outstanding warrant for driving while license suspended. The man was unable to complete any field sobriety tests and placed under arrest. After the officer made arrangements for the subject’s dog, which was in the vehicle, to be picked up, the man was taken to the police station. He refused a breath test and was booked on the warrant and cited for DUI.
