BELLINGHAM — Hoquiam’s run in the state 1A football playoffs was a short one after Saturday night’s 39-14 loss to Mount Baker in the opening round at Civic Stadium.

The Grizzlies trailed throughout the contest after the Mountaineers scored on their first drive of the contest less than two minutes into the game.

Hoquiam’s season comes to an end at 7-4, while Mount Baker (11-0) will take on La Center in the state 1A quarterfinals next weekend.
