Rhon Ellis Miller, 59, Aberdeen resident and area logger, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Wash.
Rhon was born on Jan. 1, 1957, in Coos Bay, Ore., to Elton Bernard and Mazie Ann (Fordyce) Miller. His family moved to Aberdeen a few years later and Rhon attended Aberdeen schools.
Rhon went to work in the woods as a logger for various timber companies in the area, including Stott Logging of Hoquiam. He was injured in 2006 and could not return to logging the woods he loved.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting, collecting scrap metal, pealing bark and picking mushrooms.
Rhon is survived by his son Rhon E. Miller of Hoquiam; two daughters: Mazie and Christy Miller both of Aberdeen; a brother, Bruce Miller of California and two sisters: Melody Miller of California and Cindy Stilwell of Montesano; four grandchildren: Payton Miller, RJ Miller, Joelynn Miller-Church and Arianna Miller-Picich; and his girlfriend of 20 years, Roberta Ehly of Aberdeen. He had one son and two daughters that were adopted.
Per his request, there will be no services.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Wash.
