Medication drop box available at Ocean Shores police station

The Ocean Shores Police Department now has a drop-box for citizens to dispose of unwanted and expired medications.

Evidence Technician Ari Gate made it a project to get a drug drop-box installed at the police station, and was able to get the box donated by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department.

The box is in the lobby of Ocean Shores Police Department at 577 Point Brown Ave. NW, and is only available during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

All drugs and medications can be placed in the box. They can’t accept needles (even if capped), medical waste or IV bags.

The box is emptied daily, and regularly shipped out for proper destruction.

If anyone has any questions, please call the Ocean Shores police at 360-289-3331.
