Two new positive COVID-19 tests reported in Pacific County over the weekend

No positive COVID-19 tests have been reported in Grays Harbor County since April 12, but Pacific County Public Health announced two positive test results over the weekend, bringing that county’s total to three.

“The individual has been isolated and close contacts on the individual are currently being contacted by our public health nurses with instruction to quarantine per (Department of Health) guidelines,” read a statement from Pacific County Public Health about the positive result reported Sunday. “This case is in addition to the out of state case reported on April 10 and the first in-county case reported (April 18).”

The Grays Harbor County Public Health and Washington Army and Air National Guard free drive through testing site in Aberdeen will be open to anyone age 18 and older with symptoms through Wednesday, April 22.

“There is currently an abundance of tests and appointments available to Grays Harbor County,” said Brianne Probasco, Public Health’s public information officer for COVID-19 response. “Please take advantage of this opportunity.”

As of Sunday, the Grays Harbor County test site has tested 124 people for COVID-19, according to a statement from Public Health. To schedule a drive-through test appointment call the Public Health COVID-19 call center at 36o-964-1850. The call center is open seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

According to the state Department of Health, 489 total COVID-19 tests have been administered in Grays Harbor County, 2.5% of which — 12 — have come back positive. The Department of Health reports 165 total tests have been administered in Pacific County, with 1.2% coming back positive.
