Lois (Ford) and Delmond “Del” Brown of Raymond recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

The couple was married July 8, 1950 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Raymond.

Lois was a clerk typist for Washington Social and Health Services in South Bend for 21 years. Del retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1981 and was an associate broker for Harbor Realty in South Bend from 1984 to 2020.

The couple has five children: Colleen Brown of Raymond; Karen Shildmyer of Bremerton; Denise Carl of Seattle, Sheryl DeShields of Pullman and Alan Brown of Olympia as well as seven grandchildren.

Due to the coronavirus limiting the gathering of crowds, the couple’s children hosted a “social distancing” picnic in the back yard of the home they grew up in.
