Hoquiam used a full-court press to jump out to a 12-point lead in the first quarter and rolled to victory over King’s Way Christian in a non-league game on Monday.
The Grizzlies (2-3) forced 31 turnovers and out-rebounded the Knights 35 to 13 to hold King’s Way to just 19 points.
“We opened up with full-court, man-to-man press and forced them into several turnovers, which led to numerous transition baskets,” Hoquiam coach Mark Maxfield said. “We were able to get down the court and get a lot of easy shots.”
Rylee Vonhof scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Grizzlies, while Casey Mode scored seven points and had seven rebounds.
Hoquiam hosts Castle Rock on Wednesday.
