Khaleesi is a bit of a fraidy dog. She wants attention. She’ll wag her tail when approached. Then she’ll chicken out and run away. She can be coaxed to cuddle and enjoys the security of a human body in close proximity — on her terms. She doesn’t necessarily enjoy walks, as she is afraid of so many things. Especially traffic. A walk with Khaleesi is an exercise in patience and coming to terms with the possibility that Khaleesi may have an entirely different idea of what the outside world is all about.
Khaleesi is only 6-years-old, but her coloring, which is a beautiful silver/grey, makes her appear much older. Though shy, she’s managed to make a few acquaintances along the way, as evidenced by the residual baby fat left behind by her two litters of puppies. Khaleesi is not aggressive. She will do best in a quiet, less-active, home. She is a lab/Shar Pei mix and is being treated for some allergy issues that have caused fur loss. Her previous owners had to give her up as their life situation was changing and they didn’t want to subject her to it. Khaleesi is available for adoption through PAWS of Grays Harbor. They are open by appointment only at this time. Feel free to fill out an application online at www.pawsgh.org or call (360) 533-1141. You can also find them on Facebook and Instagram. Those 55 years of age and older receive a 20% discount on adoption fees.
