Tasi Mahugh was born on Oct. 1, 1955, in Vailoa Faleata, Samoa, and passed peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sept. 25, 2020. Born to Tovia and Leuteitifaimoana, Tasi was the fifthborn of 12 children. Tasi moved to Seattle, Washington, in 1976, and married Robert Mahugh in 1979. They moved to Elma, Washington, where they resided for 30 years. Together they had four children, three of their own and one adopted.
Tasi’s love of the Lord, family, friends and community were her greatest traits. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and being physically active. Her friends and family will always cherish her infectious laughter and ability to make everyone feel loved and welcome.
Tasi is preceded in death by her father, three brothers, two sisters, and her husband Robert who passed away in 2010. She is survived by her 93-year old-mother; four children: Lorna (Greg) Deering, Sarah (Mike) Campbell, Erick (Samantha) Mahugh and Annie Mahugh; and grandchildren: Mylei, Spencer, Hailey, Aubrey, and Isaiah along with numerous extended family members.
The family would like to thank everyone who has shown love and support in recent days. Tasi was loved by so many, was the biggest supporter to anyone she knew, and that has never been more evident.
The family would also like to express a heartfelt thank you and gratitude to staff at the Sequoia Assisted Living Facility and Olympia Transitional Care and Rehabilitation. Staff at both facilities loved and cared for Tasi as early-onset Alzheimer’s took so much from her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made on behalf of Tasi to The Sequoia Resident Fund at 825 Lilly Road NE, Olympia, WA 98506. The funds donated will provide less fortunate community members with basic salon services. And just as she did in all of her years prior, Tasi still enjoyed a nice haircut and having her nails done while at the Sequoia.
