Julie Daniels

Julie began life as the first-born daughter of Lynn and Claire Perrine in Aberdeen, Dec. 8, 1927, and she was joined by sister Delores. Dec. 31, 1948, she married Robert Daniels. They were together 63 years until Bob passed in 2011.

She was a fantastic cook and when son and daughter Mike and Cindy came home from school they were greeted with the aroma of fresh bread “right out of the oven.” Either four loaves or two loaves and a large pan of cinnamon rolls — that was a treat!

She was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts, Brownie Troop Leader and a member of the Young Mothers Club. Mike says “I don’t know what they did.”

Art was an interest at an early age for Julie and was a lifelong passion. Our home was always full of art, either paintings in progress or framed up. Her paint room always had the smells of whatever medium she was using at the time. The art went hand in hand with “junking,” which is what she and friend Roxy called it before it became antique collecting. Alongside the painting there was usually a treasure of some sort — chair, table or commode being stripped sanded and refinished. She loved to fix thing up and you never knew what color the kitchen might be from one month to next!

Art classes, Art League and numerous galleries and shows over the years — always learning, always trying something new.

To anybody that has Julie Daniels’ art, our hope is you enjoy it as much as she did creating it.

Julie was the circulation manager for The Aberdeen Daily World in Montesano in the mid-to-late ’60s and whenever a name came up in conversation she associated them with “yep they lived at such and such,’ and she remembered what boys had what paper route and what many of them are doing presently.

She completely wore out her 1965 Mustang more than once and had it rebuilt, repainted, reupholstered and drove it some more, always on the GO. Her latest ride was another Mustang (red this time). She loved her Mustang and being able to get in it and GO right up to her last day. Julie didn’t die of old age.

Julie and her some of her classmates from the class of 1945 Aberdeen High School still met for mini reunions. She will miss those little get togethers.

Julie leaves behind son Mike (Ingrid) Daniels, grandson Joe (Kay) Daniels; great-grandchildren Jordyn and Gage; daughter Cindy (Pete) Rabey; grandchildren Michael and Michelle Rabey; great grandchildren: Jillian, Peyton and Nellie. She also had special friends she saw almost daily at Savory Faire Restaurant in Montesano that were a very important part of her life, visiting, talking art and cooking over lunch or afternoon coffee.

There will be a celebration at Savory Faire as soon as conditions allow.
