The Montesano boys and girls track and field teams picked up overall team titles in a four-way meet Monday in Tenino.
Competing against Rainier, Northwest Christian and Tenino in a four-way meet, Montesano’s boys scored 60 points to beat second-place Rainier by eight points.
Seniors Conner Hollatz and Aydan Darst led the way for Monte’s boys team, winning two events each.
Hollatz won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 49.07, edging teammate Jack Holmstrom by .04 of a second, and took the top spot in the javelin with a throw of 147 feet, 11 inches.
Darst won the boys long jump with a mark of 18-10 and earned a victory in the triple jump with a mark of 41-06, more than two feet better than second-place Thomas Ronne of Rainier (39-05 PR).
The Bulldogs boys also got wins from Aric Jacklin (1600, 5:06.74 Personal Record), Gabe Bodwell (110 hurdles, 20.84 PR), 4×100 relay team (Colby Adams, Aydan Darst, Hunter Schnoor, Kasen Willis-Werner 46.82) and Cooper Johansson (high jump, 5-02 PR).
Montesano’s girls team won by a wide margin, earning 73 points to defeated Rainier (48 points), Northwest Christian (8 pts.) and Tenino (2 pts.).
Monte’s Madolyn Olson played a major role in the Bulldog victory. The senior sprinter won the girls 100 with a time of 13.33, the 400 with a season-best 1:00.62, and ran the second leg of Montesano’s winning 4×100 and 4×200 relays.
Olson was joined by Sierra Birdsall, Alma Muro and Jaiden Morrison to win the 4×100 relay with a time of 54.54, and the same quartet won the 4×200 with a time of 1:55.30.
Other Monte winners included Morrison (200, 27.87 PR), Alayna Olson (long jump, 13-09), Ashlyn Devereaux (30-07, triple jump) and the 4×400 relay team (Aubrey Anderson, Maia Young, Lilly Schweppe, Asha Harris 4:44.65).

BOYS SOCCER
Montesano 7, Raymond-South Bend 1
Montesano won its third straight league game, dominating from start to finish in a 7-1 victory over Raymond-South Bend on Monday in South Bend.
Monte (4-5 overall, 4-4 1A Evergreen) was led by Veli Ambrocio, who scored on a penalty kick in the 27th minute to give Monte a 1-0 lead on a shot early in the second half for a 5-0 lead.
Montesano midfielder Mateo Sanchez had a goal and an assist in the game.
The Bulldogs also got goals from Cole Ekerson, Joseph Wood, Luke Clements and Tucker Stecher, with Jiovanny Torress collecting an assist in the contest.
Raymond-South Bend’s goal came off a penalty kick in the 69th minute of the game.
Monte totalled 15 shots in the game to just six for RSB. Ten of the Bulldogs shots were on-goal.

BASEBALL
Black Hills 8, Aberdeen 4
Aberdeen suffered its fourth straight loss in an 8-4 defeat to Black Hills on Monday in Tumwater.
Aberdeen (3-7 overall, 2-7 2A Evergreen) fell behind early after spotting five runs to the Wolves in the first inning, all with two outs.
The Bobcats were unable to climb back into the game, trailing 6-1 after two innings and 7-2 after six.
In the top of the seventh, Aberdeen scored two runs on an RBI ground out by Maliki Balesteri who later scored on a wild pitch.
But after a Hunter Eisele double, Trey Anderson popped out to end the game.
Eisele went 2-for-4 to lead Aberdeen, which outhit Black Hills 6-5 but committed seven errors in the loss.
RJ Miller went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI for the Bobcats.
Balesteri took the loss, allowing eight runs (one earned) on five hits and five walks with seven strikeouts in 5 1-3 innings pitched.
The Wolves’ Derek Clark earned the victory, allowing four runs (one earned) on five hits, three walks and three strikeouts in six innings pitched.

Pe Ell-Willapa Valley 12, Naselle 2
Garrett Keeton hit a grand slam to lead the Pe Ell-Willapa Valley Titans to a 12-2 five-inning victory over Naselle on Monday in Naselle.
Tied 2-2 after the first inning, PWV (7-3 overall, 4-3) erupted for six runs in the second, highlighted by Keeton’s blast to left field, scoring pitcher Aiden Young, Blake Howard and Hudson Barnum to give PWV a 7-2 lead.
The Titans scored four runs in the fourth on an RBI double by Howard, and run-scoring singles from Barnum, Kaden Ritzman and Gavin Hampton to take a 12-2 lead.
That was all Young would need as he allowed the two earned runs on five hits and a walk in five innings pitched.
Hampton went 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI while Ritzman (2-3, 2B, 2RBI) also had a multi-hit game for the Titans.

WF West 6, Aberdeen 0
Aberdeen’s girls tennis team lost 6-0 to WF West on Monday in Chehalis.
Despite the loss, Aberdeen head coach Ashley Kohlmeier said she is seeing improvement from her young team.
“I am pleased with the overall competitiveness of the matches today,” she said. “The team is improving and starting to play with a bit more intensity. While the scores didn’t land in our favor, everyone took what we’ve been working on in practice and tried to make it happen in their match.”
