In the second half, Hernandez was at it again, scoring of a deflected shot in the 48th minute followed by netting a header off a throw-in from Seaberg 11 minutes later.

Stevenson’s only legitimate scoring threat came in the first half when a ball pinballed near goal, but was eventually cleared by the Elma defense.

“Overall, it was a pretty dominating performance by us and probably one of our better games of the year,” Elma head coach Carson Seaberg said, adding a key to the Eagles’ victory was their ability to win second balls, get into their possession game and counter-attack. “Really pleased to have the guys come out in a first round district game and play their best soccer.”
