Aberdeen High School senior wrestler Tatum Heikkila, sitting, signed a Letter of Intent in June to compete for Colorado Mesa University beginning this fall.

During her decorated prep career, Heikkila has won both district and regional championships, placed twice at the state finals and completed a undefeated season in 2021. Heikkila has also placed twice at national club-wrestling championship events and is a two-time Cadet Junior Freestyle All-American and Team Washington National Team Champion.

Heikkila thanked head coaches Craig and Tamar Yakovich “for building a top notch program and pushing her to achieve her goals,” and Team Washington coaches Tony Nunez and Dom Duncan for “their dedication and commitment.”

Heikkila plans to major in biology and looks forward to working with animals and wildlife in her future.
