Montesano and South Bend picked up important league volleyball wins as we take a look at Tuesday’s prep sports action on the Harbor.
GIRLS PREP VOLLEYBALL
Montesano 3, Tenino 0
Montesano won its first league game of the season with a straight-set victory over Tenino on Tuesday in Montesano.
The Bulldogs (4-3 overall, 1-0 1A Evergreen) won 25-11, 25-14 and 25-11.
Monte was led by middle hitter Addie Winter, who had a game-high 10 kills.
Jordan Karr added 12 assists and Olivia Young recorded three aces in a game Monte head coach Pat Pace said was a total team effort.
“Everyone contributed to the win tonight,” he said.
Monte hosts Eatonville in a league game at 7 p.m. on Thursday in Montesano.

South Bend 3, Chief Leschi 0
South Bend extended its hold on second place in the 2B Pacific League with a straight-set victory over Chief Leschi on Tuesday in South Bend.
South Bend (4-3 overall, 4-1 2B Pacific) won 25-7, 25-19 and 25-14 to extend its lead over Forks and Ocosta to one game in the race for second place in the 2B Pacific League.
South Bend sits a half game behind Raymond for the league’s top spot.
South Bend senior outside hitter Hannah Jewell went 16-for-16 from the service line and had 11 digs.
Junior Makaylee Kuiken added eight digs and senior Dayna Estle led South Bend with eight kills.
South Bend will host Raymond at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in a battle for the league’s top spot.

PREP BOYS GOLF
Aberdeen 255, Shelton 263, Black Hills 289
Aberdeen continued its great play this season with a victory in its only three-way match of the 2021-22 campaign.
Led by Logan Seguin, the Bobcats won 255-263-289 over Shelton and Black Hills, respectively, on Monday at the Alderbrook Golf Course in Union.
Seguin won Medalist honors with a low round of 39 over nine holes. The Bobcats’ top golfer was 4-over par through the first four holes before rallying to go 1-under over the last five holes.
Seguin birdied both the long par-5 No. 5 hole and an intimidating double-dogleg 8th hole.
Charlie Anchich (49), Luke Niemi (53), Baylor Ainsworth (56) and Trevon Nichols (58, tie) and Hunter Eisele (58, tie) rounded out Aberdeen’s scoring, with Niemi making a par shot from the sand trap on the No. 9 hole.
