Ardith Forsgren is a multimedia artist. Her art is on display at The Gallery Of Ocean Shores at 849 Point Brown Ave., NW, Suites 3-4, in Ocean Shores.
Forsgren is a local Ocean Shores artist who has been involved with the arts since childhood. She studied fabric and jewelry design at the University of Washington. In the mid-60s, she designed and stamped leather for the Arizona Saddlery in Prescott, Ariz.. She also designed and created black coral jewelry in Lahaina for Maui divers in Hawaii. In the 1970s she did wood carving.
Her present favorite medium is watercolor and pottery. The pottery is both hand-built and wheel-thrown with stoneware clay. She also does raku. Her plates and bowls have a unique and original quality.
Frequently, you can see Forsgren at The Gallery Of Ocean Shores working in watercolor, or Studio Six Pottery Studio two doors down from the gallery. Her watercolors are vibrant with aquatic creatures moving throughout the painting or horses galloping about.
Forsgren has won many awards, the latest of which are three awards received at the 2016 Ocean Shores Fine Art and Photography Show.
Ardith with be present at The Gallery of Ocean Shores for the Third Saturday event on September 17 from noon to 4 p.m. There will be live music, refreshments and food.
