Hoquiam snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 4-2 win in a non-league matchup against Ilwaco on Thursday in Hoquiam.
The Grizzlies (2-10 overall) took the lead in the bottom of the second inning when Colby Shumate drove in Kort Gordon with a two-out single for a 1-0 lead.
Hoquiam infielder Dom Standstipher then belted a two-run triple to right field, scoring Ethan McLucas and Shumate to push the Grizzlies lead to 3-0.
Hoquiam added an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth when Gordon was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, forcing Zander Jump home for a 4-0 lead.
Hoquiam starting pitcher Riley Montoure picked up the win, allowing an earned run on four hits with three strikeouts in five innings pitched.
Mick Bozitch picked up the save, allowing an earned run on two hits in two innings pitched.
Standstipher led the Grizzlies offense, going 3-for-4 with a triple, a double and two RBI.
Hoquiam faces Tenino at 3 p.m. on Friday in Tenino.

Down late in the game, Ocosta rallied to overcome a big deficit en route to a 12-11 victory over Oakville on Thursday at Grand Army Memorial Park in Westport.
With Oakville up 1-0 in the bottom of the second inning, Ocosta (4-5 overall) rallied for six runs — all with two outs — highlighted by two-run singles from Dylan Hollingsworth and Andrew Martin.
But Oakville responded with five runs in both the third and fifth innings to take an 11-6 lead late into the game.
Ocosta rallied to score six runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead. Bryan Ceja had an RBI single in the frame while Mark Sevilla, Garrison Barnum and Frederick Bishop belted run-scoring doubles in the frame, with Barnum driving in Hollingsworth with the tying run followed by Bishop driving home Barnum to take the lead.
Bishop earned the save, holding the Acorns scoreless over the final two innings and getting a strikeout to end the game with the tying run at third base.
Sevilla picked up the win, allowing five runs on three hits and eight walks in 2 2/3 innings.
Bishop (2-4, 2B, R, 3RBI) and Martin (2-3, 2B, R, 2RBI) led the way for Ocosta’s offense with two hits and a double apiece for a Wildcats offense that collected nine hits and drew 10 walks as a team.
Ocosta takes on Ilwaco in a doubleheader scheduled for noon on Saturday in Ilwaco.

Aberdeen 76, Tumwater 75
Led by another outstanding round from Britt Rajcich and company, the Aberdeen Bobcats picked up a huge win on Thursday, downing Tumwater 76-75 at Grays Harbor Country Club.
Using the Stableford scoring system, Rajcich lead Aberdeen with 29 points as the Bobcats had another consistent performance up and down the lineup.
In addition to Rajcich, Kaitlyn McCracken (18 points), Alice Earley (14) and Saylor Heikkila (13) all scored in double digits as the Bobcats remained undefeated at 4-0 this season.
“When you get the chance to coach long enough and experience the highs and the lows of your career, you really can appreciate a win against a longtime rival,” Aberdeen head coach Dan Sundstrom said. “It has been a while since we have defeated Tumwater.”
Tumwater’s Lilly McCauley won Medalist honors with 35 points.
Sundstrom commented on the performance of his top two golfers after the landmark win.
“Britt Rajcich had a fabulous round and went stroke-for-stroke against one of the best golfers in the state (McCauley),” he said. “Match after match, Kaitlyn McCracken continues to turn in solid rounds.”
