George was born April 17, 1923 in Des Moines, Iowa. He died Jan. 25, 2017, in Rochester. George graduated from Oregon City High School and was attending Oregon State University when he joined the navy for WWII. He served primarily in the South Pacific as a Motor Mechanic. He was a general contractor in the Portland area.

He is survived by three children, Anne Allender, Vancouver, Phillip Kirkpatrick, Camas, George (Denise) Kirkpatrick, Hawaii, Partner Pat Schoelkopf, Grand Mound.

George was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Moose Lodge, Eagles, Vasa Lodge and Lewis County Senior Center.

A luncheon and Celebration of Life will be held at Swede Hall, 18543 Albany St SW Rochester, Wash. on Feb. 25, from 1 to 4 p.m. Donations may be made to the Lewis County Senior Center.
