Albert William (Bill) Bernard, longtime resident of Hoquiam, died Feb. 8, 2017, at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, he was 73.
Bill was born in Aberdeen on Dec. 10, 1943, to Albert and Margaret (Yates) Bernard.
When Bill was young he loved spending time at his grandparents’ home in Moclips, Wash. He also enjoyed walking on the beach with his granddaughter and they would look for shells and agates.
Bill worked at Hoquiam Plywood for 40 years. He retired in 2002 after being disabled in an accident. Bill was an avid fisherman and hunter when he was younger. Recently he enjoyed riding ATVs and target shooting.
He is survived by his fiancee’, Vicki Rowe at the family home; brother Freddy Bernard of Hoquiam; sons Robert Bernard of Aberdeen and Albert (Kristen) Bernard of Hoquiam; granddaughters Kelsey Bernard, Kaylee Bernard and Audrey Rowe; also cousins Cecil Sudderth and Gary Running. Bill was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister, Darlene Bernard.
At Bill’s request, there will be no services.
