Raymond-South Bend won convincingly for the second straight week as we take a look at the Twin Harbors prep football action from Week 2.

Raymond-South Bend 55, Wahkiakum 20

Raymond-South Bend is making waves in the 2B classification.

For the second consecutive game the Ravens have impressed, this time after a 55-20 win over Wahkiakum on the road on Friday.

RSB (2-0) was led by a big night from running back Ty Reidinger, who rushed for 143 yards and three touchdowns.

The Ravens trailed 7-0 in the second quarter before scoring three straight touchdowns to take a 20-7 lead into halftime.

Wahkiakum (1-1) climbed back into the game in the third quarter on a 69-yard screen pass by quarterback Brodie Avalon to running back Dominic Curl followed by a 6-yard fumble return for a touchdown by defensive end Kyler Sause.

But as it did in last week’s victory over Toledo, RSB made the plays down the stretch.

Reidinger scored on a 15-yard run with just under six minutes left in the game and the Ravens put the final nails in the coffin with a 32-yard touchdown run by quarterback Austin Snodgrass followed by a 33 yard TD run in the closing seconds by Ferrill Johnson.

“It took us a little time to get going, but once we figured out what worked we stuck with it,” Ravens head coach Luke Abbott said. “I was very happy with the way we finished the game. We didn’t bog down too much.”

RSB plays at Ilwaco at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Cascade Christian 55, Elma 20

Elma rallied from down two scores but couldn’t slow down Cascade Christian in a 55-20 loss on Friday in Elma.

Down 14-0 in the first quarter, Elma quarterback Carter Studer connected on a 50 yards touchdown pass to Kyren Hackney to trim the deficit to 14-6 with 2:12 to go in the quarter.

Studer and Hackney would connect again early in the second quarter on a 29-yard touchdown strike to tie the game at 14-all.

But Cascade Christian scored six consecutive touchdowns as the Eagles defense had no answer for the Cougars high-powered offense.

Elma scored when Brock Maners recovered a fumble and returned it for a touchdown with 4:16 to go in the game.

Cascade Christian racked up 526 yards of offense to 161 for Elma.

Studer went 11-for-24 for 116 yards and a touchdown.

The Eagles will face Castle Rock at 7 p.m. on Friday at Castle Rock High School.

Adna 18, Pe Ell-Willapa Valley 14

Just two weeks into the season and Pe Ell-Willapa Valley has endured two gut-wrenching losses.

One week removed from seeing a late lead slip away in a loss to Tenino, PWV faced a similar situation against 2B-rival Adna in an 18-14 loss on Friday in Adna.

PWV (0-2) trailed 12-0 until quarterback Kolten Fluke hit running back Blake Howard on an 18-yard scoring play to make it a 12-6 game with 31 seconds left in the first quarter.

After the half, PWV took the lead when running back Derek Fluke carried the ball four yards for a score.

A Kolten Fluke run for two points on the conversion gave PWV a 14-12 lead at the 5:51 mark of the third quarter.

In the final two minutes of the game, a long Adna pass set up a 1-yard scoring toss from quarterback Lane Johnson to receiver Gavin Muler for the go-ahead touchdown with 1:58 on the clock.

PWV was unable to score in the final moments of the game, suffering its second close, late-game loss in as many weeks.

“We had our hearts ripped out again,” PWV head coach Josh Fluke said. “We grinded. It was a damn good football game that just came down to the final drive. … We didn’t get pressure on Johnson a couple of times and he picked us apart.”

The Titans outgained Adna 286-262, including rushing the football 46 times for 215 yards in the evenly-matched contest.

Wil Clements led PWV with 69 rushing yards on nine carries.

The Titans will host Wahkiakum at 7:30 p.m. on Friday in Menlo.

Ocosta 27, Toutle Lake 12

Ocosta played a complete game on both sides of the ball in a 27-12 11-man victory over Toutle Lake on Friday in Toutle.

The Wildcats (2-0) had 120 yards rushing and more than 125 yards passing in the first half alone, led by quarterback Tarren Lewis, running back Andrew Martin (81 rushing yards, 2 TDs in first half) and the offensive line of Mark Sevilla, Gage Grigsby, Shaheed Lewis, Matthew Wyland and Bryan Ceja.

Ocosta receiver Josh Figueroa finished the game with 118 receiving yards and two rushing touchdowns of more than 40 yards each.

The Ocosta defense held Toutle Lake (0-2) to just six points per half, led by Devontay Garrett (15 tackles), Lewis (11), Figueroa (10) and Kevin Agramon (7 tackles, INT).

Ocosta will play at Toledo at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Lake Quinault 44, Oakville 27

Lake Quinault picked up a significant win for its head coach on Saturday, beating Oakville 44-27 in a 6-man football game on Saturday at Lake Quinault High School.

The Elks (1-0) got two touchdowns apiece from Jesse Ferry, Cody Perry and Luis Estrada.

Lake Quinault’s Charles Gumecindo also scored a touchdown in the game.

The win was a significant one for the Elks and their head coach Melvyn Houtz, who graduated from and used to coach at Oakville High School.

“(Oakville) had far more talent than we did and my kids just stayed the course and beat them,” Houtz said. “You can’t be any happier than that. It’s very special. … I rank this win right at the top. Team-wise, execution-wise, our kids had big heart.”

The Acorns (0-1) were led by freshman quarterback Giovanni Rodas, who threw for 104 yards and a touchdown on 5-of-10 passing.

Senior Ashton Boyd ran for 74 yards on seven carries while sophomore receiver Daniel Rodas caught six balls for 121 yards and a pair of touchdowns for Oakville.

The game was called with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter as Saturday’s high temperatures and smoke-filled air from wildfires led to both teams losing players due to cramping and other health-related issues.

Oakville plays at Taholah in an 8-man game scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday in Taholah.

Lake Quinault is scheduled to play at Mary M. Knight at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
