Anna Mary McKown (Sorensen) passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022.

Anna Mary McKown (Sorensen) passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022, surrounded by family at the age of 75. Anna was born to Iner Carl Sorensen and Mary Ann Sorensen on Feb. 21, 1947 in Grays Harbor Washington.

Anna was born and raised in Aberdeen, Washington and went to Weatherwax High School where she met the love of her life Charles McKown. They later married at the Methodist church in Aberdeen on June 26 1967 ,

Anna lived in her family home in North Aberdeen with her husband Charles McKown until Charles passed away in 2020. Then in 2021 Anna moved to Richland, Washington to be with her family.

Anna worked many jobs in her life time: Maupins electronics in Aberdeen, Stewarts Shop Rite in the bakery, the Book Carnival in Aberdeen and also at the Aberdeen Eagles, where she was head bartender and bookkeeper. She also worked at JC Pennys where she retired from.

Anna enjoyed knitting, crocheting, doing crafts, agate hunting, fishing, hunting, and her times with the camp club. she really enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.

Anna is survived by her three children: Linda Smith, Jeffrey Sorensen and Ray McKown; siblings: Inez Droke, Ella Carstens, Mackie Sorensen, Patrick Sorensen and Wesley Sorensen, as well as 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles McKown, parents Iner and Mary Sorensen, sisters Darlene Sorensen and Sandra Hill, brother Thomas Sorensen and grandson Ray Charles McKown Jr.

There will be no service as that is what Anna wanted , just a private family gathering.
