It is with profound sadness that the family of Christopher Edward Wentworth “Chris” must announce that he peacefully lost his private battle with pancreatic cancer at his home in Hoquiam, Washington on Oct. 29, 2022.
Chris was born on March 31, 1973, at Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Washington to his parents Dave and Linda Wentworth. He began his childhood in Elma, Washington on his family’s small farm, where his love of animals, especially dogs, began. Many happy hours were spent helping to care for the family’s numerous farm animals and playing outdoors with his siblings. When Chris was eight years old his family moved to Aberdeen, Washington, where he happily grew up with his siblings and many neighborhood friends. The family home was always full of people of various ages; having fun and making priceless memories. After graduating from Aberdeen High School in 1992, Chris moved to Bellingham, Washington where he attended Bellingham Technical College, graduating with a degree in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences.
In the summer of 1998, Chris married Michelle Mainio in Elma, Washington. Together they raised their two amazing children, Keegan and Jade. The four of them lived happily in Montesano for several years, prior to a divorce. Chris and Michelle remained excellent co-parents as well as close friends. Chris later moved to Hoquiam, Washington where he remained until his passing.
Chris’s children were his greatest source of love, pride and joy. His face would always light up the room when he shared stories about them, which he loved doing. His favorite pastime involved spending time with his kids. He thoroughly enjoyed watching and supporting them in whatever sport or activity they were involved in. He did the same for his nieces and nephew.
Chris was very loving, kind and empathetic. He had a great sense of humor, beautiful big blue eyes and a contagious smile. He was always a kid at heart, loved music and to dance. One of Chris’s great passions was spending time making countless memories with his very close family while camping, hunting, fishing, clam digging, going on mini vacations together or just hanging out — all activities cherished by his entire family. From childhood to adulthood, Chris loved playing soccer. He also enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, wood working and spending time talking with his many good friends.
Chris was a lifelong member of the YMCA, beginning with childhood sports and activities. As a teenager he joined the YMCA High School Leadership Club, spending countless hours volunteering in various ways while making great memories with his friends. Chris loved the several years he spent working with children at Camp Bishop and often spoke of the many memories and close bonds that were made. He was also a member of Coastal Conservation Association, Grays Harbor Gun Club and the Rocky Mountain Elk Club.
Chris proudly worked for PanelTech International LLC for 24 years. His position grew along with the company, becoming their longtime PaperStone Plant Manager. His coworkers became family.
He will forever be loved, missed and remembered by his family and loved ones. Chris is survived by his son Keegan Wentworth and daughter Jade Wentworth. He is also survived by his parents Dave and Linda Wentworth, brother Dave Wentworth (Tara), sisters Christina Kost (Jim), Jennifer Montoure (Mark), Alisa Radonski (John) and Kristin Wentworth, nieces Madison Radonski, Isabella Radonski and Jaycee Kost, nephew Peyton Montoure, grandmother Betty Smith, several aunts, uncles, cousins, girlfriend Jodi Moore and her four children: Joey Moore, Olivia Moore, Annalise Moore and Keira Moore. He was beloved by all.
A celebration of life is planned in his remembrance and will be announced at a later date. For those that wish to do something in memory of Chris, the family asks that you choose a way to “Pay It Forward” by helping others or spend time making a special memory with your family. Chris spent his lifetime doing both, as they always brought him great joy.
