Aberdeen police investigating fatal hit-and-run

The driver was located, dead from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Aberdeen Police Department is currently investigating a hit-and-run resulting in the death of a pedestrian.

Police were dispatched to Boone Street and Marion Street at 9:13 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16, according to an APD news release. Upon arriving, officers located a dead woman in the roadway. The next of kin have been notified, said Lt. Andy Snodgrass in an email.

The owner of the vehicle was located dead early Thursday morning from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the news release. The department currently believes there are no additional persons of interest in the incident.

The roadway was shut down for four hours while investigators processed the scene. The APD asks anyone with information to call investigators at 360-533-3180. The department thanked all those who stopped to report the incident or render aid in the news release.
