Thomas Lee “Tom” Sumter passed away on Dec. 9, 2022. He was born to Thomas and Viola Sumter in Topeka, Kansas on Sept. 1, 1942. He was raised in Bremerton, Washington. He attended and graduated from the University of Washington in 1966.

In 2001, Tom married Annette Ericksen in Port Townsend, Washington on their sailboat, “Unity.” They were married for 21 years before he passed away. Tom enjoyed sailing and hiking.

Tom is survived by his wife Annette; sons Thomas and Michael Sumter; daughters Keri Aniliones, Andrea Cameron and Karalee Cartenas; grandchildren Jason Sumter, Henry Cameron, Jake Crye-Analionis and Duncan Fazio Sumter; great-grandson Sebastian Sumter; brother Michael Sumter; and sisters Lori Sumter- Reeves and Cora Sumter Harrington. He is preceded in death by both his parents.
