Patricia Alice Roose, a longtime Aberdeen resident, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022, at Harbor Regional Health in Aberdeen.

Patricia Alice Roose, 94, longtime Aberdeen resident and homemaker, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022, at Harbor Regional Health in Aberdeen.

Patricia was born on July 11, 1928, in Winlock, Washington to Henry and Hazel (Erkenbrach) Jobst. She grew up on Duffy Street in Aberdeen and graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1945.

On Aug. 15, 1946, Patricia married Lloyd Roose in Montana. He passed away on Oct. 7, 2007.

Patricia was an artist and taught art for adults at Ocosta school through GH College as an extension program. She also taught privately for many years, was a former member of GH Art League and Hank Taylor Gallery in Montesano. She liked to cook and bake and was somewhat famous for her homemade sauerkraut.

Patricia is survived by four sons: Steven Roose of Aberdeen, John (Janet) Roose of Montesano, Darryl Roose of Aberdeen and Brian (Sheryl) Roose of Old Town, Idaho; three daughters: Francine (Bill) Phillips of Camano, Island, Washington, Rebecca (Wayne) Toy of Aberdeen and Trisha (David) Voss of Elma, Washington; a brother Conrad (Caroline) Jobst of Montesano; 15 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

She will be inurned with her husband at Fern Hill Cemetery in Aberdeen, Washington.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
