Steven James McDuffee Jr. of Grays Harbor passed away on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023. Steven was born on Jan. 2, 1991, to Donna Bickford in Tacoma, Washington.

Steven was the real definition of one of a kind. I don’t think that you could find a person who met him that didn’t like him. He could bring a smile to your face on your darkest day. He was so spontaneous you never knew what crazy stunt was coming next.

He loved working on anything he could in the garage with his stepdad Eric. He enjoyed learning carpentry with Eric and working closely together over the last few months. Steven really was the hardest worker you could ever meet. He would never complain, no matter the job and be the first to help even before he was asked.

If he could have lived outdoors he would have, hunting, fishing, and working on the farm. He loved it all. He was the best cattle sorter of all time. Farming really is a labor of love and Steven had it in his blood. He and Kelsey headed to Oregon a few years ago to haul livestock out of the fires because he just wanted to help. He loved being out in the woods with his dad learning about running heavy equipment, falling trees, or cutting firewood. He enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes and then bugging you to see if you really liked them or not.

Steven was an amazing protective brother to all his siblings. Whether it was getting facials with his sisters or arm wrestling his brothers. He always wanted to build something or teach them what he knew. He never passed up a moment he could spend with any of them. He was so great with the little kids. He absolutely loved being an uncle and getting right down on their level to play whatever made them happy. One of the most valuable parts of Steven’s young adulthood was being in a relationship that he was lucky enough to help raise Karson. He absolutely treasured those times with him. His Husky-Cougar rivalry with Nancy was fierce but all in, good fun.

Back in the day, Steven and his crazy crew were always kicking up dust and causing the parents to worry. Those boys share a bond that meant so much to Steven. He was always the life of any party. Being on leave the last few months, Steven and his mom spent everyday catching up on TV shows and laughing. Steven was always up, coffee ready, and had a smile on his face. He loved celebrating America’s birthday.

Steven is survived by his mother Donna (Eric) Martin of Port Orchard; father Wayne (Kelsey Tikka Daniels) Brown of Montesano; brothers Levi, Blake and Carson; and sisters Jamie, Brooke and Taylor.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4 2023 at the Aberdeen Elks.
