Lanny Birdsell, Montesano class of 1975, died unexpectedly March 8, 2017, at his home in Raytown, Mo. He was born in Beloit, Kan., Dec. 16, 1956, the youngest of five children to Alfred and Lorraine Birdsell. He is survived by his 4 siblings, Betty and Glen Rotan, Kansas City, Mo., Suzette and Clyde Gile, Scandia, Kan., Joyce and Richard Salmon, Raytown, Mo., and Warren and Carol Birdsell, Windsor, Colo.; nephews Raymond Salmon and Chris Birdsell and niece Susan (Birdsell) and Robb Wagner. He was an expert costume designer and property manager and enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking and his family. Donations may be made in his name to the W.H. Abel Memorial Timberland Library, 125 Main St. S, Montesano, WA 98563 – the site of his first job.
