Down big, Aberdeen rallied before suffering a 14-13 walk-off loss to Centralia on Tuesday in Centralia.

The Bobcats (2-1 overall, 0-1 2A Evergreen) trailed 13-4 heading into the sixth inning after giving up five and six runs in the fourth and fifth innings, respectively.

Then Aberdeen embarked on an epic rally, scoring nine runs in the top half of the sixth to tie the game at 13-all. The Bobcats got run-scoring singles from Marcus Hale, Bubba Jones and Aidan Baker in the frame as well as a two-run double off the bat of Kyle Miller.

With a runner on and two out, Aberdeen’s Hunter Eisele stepped to the dish and belted the ball over the left-field fence for a two-run home run to tie the game at 13.

In the bottom of the eighth, Centralia loaded the bases with no outs and got a sacrifice fly from Moshie Eport to drive in Roberto Rosales-Norris with the game-winning run.

Four Bobcats collected two hits in the game, led by Eisele (2-4, HR, 2 R, 2 RBI) and Hale (2-3, 2 R, RBI).

Aberdeen hosts Centralia at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Ocosta 20, Chief Leschi 0

Ocosta scored early and often to earn a quick 20-0 mercy-rule victory over Chief Leschi in the first game of a double header on Tuesday in Westport.

The Wildcats (3-0) scored 13 runs in the bottom of the first inning as Warriors pitching allowed two walks and hit five Ocosta batters in the frame.

Ocosta’s Gabe Matthews and Andrew Martin capped the inning with back-to-back run-scoring doubles with Xander Prigmore, Frederick Bishop, Mark Sevilla and Garrison Barnum also collecting RBI hits in the frame.

Ocosta added seven more runs in the second, capping the scoring at 20-0 on a Bishop two-run double.

Bishop went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles and four RBI to lead the Ocosta offense, which had 11 hits in just two innings.

Matthews gave up no runs or hits with seven strikeouts in earning a three-inning victory.

Chief Leschi pitchers hit a total of nine Ocosta batters in the game and surrendered five walks.

Ocosta closed out the twin bill with its second-straight three-inning, mercy-rule victory, beating the Warriors 16-0 in the nightcap.

The Wildcats scored seven runs in each of the first two innings and benefited from seven walks, three hit batters and six Chief Leschi errors in the win.

Figueroa led Ocosta on the bump and at the plate, striking out every batter he faced over three innings of work while going 3-for-4 with a double in the victory.

“It was a good night for our starting pitchers to get some quality time on the mound. … I was really happy with the way they had command of their pitches and were hitting their spots,” Ocosta head coach Mike Allton said. “We did our job at the plate when we had our opportunities, we ran the bases well and played clean defense.”

Ocosta hosts Ilwaco for a double header starting at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

Auburn Riverside 7, Montesano 4

Errors proved costly for Montesano in a 7-4 loss to Auburn Riverside on Tuesday in Montesano.

The Bulldogs (2-1) had four errors in the game, leading to six unearned runs for Auburn Riverside.

Auburn Riverside scored three runs in the first after a Montesano error, but Monte responded with two runs on back-to-back RBI singles from Alyssa Maldonado and Alisyn Parkin in the second and tied the game on an Addi Kersker RBI base hit in the fourth.

Auburn Riverside regained the lead with a pair of runs in the fifth on a triple followed by a run on a passed ball.

Monte got to within a run when Grace Gooding drew a bases-loaded walk in the sixth, but an error with two out in the Auburn Riverside seventh led to back-to-back RBI base hits and a 7-4 lead.

Parkin and Kersker cracked two hits apiece for Aberdeen.

Riley Timmons took the loss for the Bulldogs, allowing seven runs – one earned – on five hits, four walks and seven strikeouts over seven innings pitched.

Montesano plays at Kentwood at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
