Montesano’s offense provided more than enough punch in a 19-3 triumph over Nooksack Valley on Saturday in Montesano.

The Bulldogs (8-2 overall) fell behind 2-0 after a two-run home run by the Pioneers’ Lainey Kimball.

Monte responded with a run in each of the first and second frames and took a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the third capped by a two-run single off the bat of catcher Ali Parkin.

The Bulldogs gained some breathing room with eight runs in the fourth. Monte’s offense collected seven hits in the inning, highlighted by doubles from Kylee Wisdom, Riley Timmons and Kennedy Campbell. Monte also got run-scoring singles from Kalia Hatton and Liv Robinson in the frame.

In the sixth, Monte tacked on six more runs on a Hatton RBI double, a Parkin single, an Addi Kersker two-run double and a Wisdom RBI single.

Timmons earned the win, allowing two earned runs on four hits, three walks and eight strikeouts in four innings pitched.

Grace Gooding allowed an earned run on two hits and four strikeouts in three innings of relief.

Monte collected 16 hits as a team, led by Parkin and Kersker with three hits apiece. Parkin drove in four runs while Kersker scored three runs and had three RBI.

Aberdeen dropped the first game of a doubleheader 5-3 to Tacoma on Saturday in Tacoma.

GHC (13-23 overall, 2-10 NWAC West) trailed 2-0 before Ian Winterhalder belted a solo home run to left-center field in the bottom of the fourth inning.

In the bottom of the sixth, Winterhalder scored on a Reese Shioji single to cut the Tacoma lead to 3-2.

Aidan McMurdo scored a run on an error in the bottom of the eighth to bring the Chokers to within a run once again at 4-3.

A wild pitch allowed Tacoma (26-2, 7-1) to extend the lead to 5-3 in the top of the ninth.

Ocosta’s Colby Scheuber took the loss, allowing four earned runs on five hits with three walks and nine strikeouts in 7 2-3 innings pitched.

Aberdeen got a solid pitching performance from Jake Johnson en route to a 3-1 win in the nightcap on Saturday, handing the Titans just their second loss of the season.

After allowing a run on a sacrifice fly in the top of the first, Johnson shut down Tacoma allowing three hits and three walks while striking out three in earning the complete-game victory.

Chase Thomson scored a run for the Chokers on an error to tie the game in the bottom of the first and Reese Shioji scored on a balk later in the inning to take the lead.

In the bottom of the second, Hunter Hillyard chased home Cael McMurdo with a sacrifice fly to put GHC up 3-1.

The Chokers face Olympic for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
