Robert Quinn was born and raised on the family farm located on the Wynoochee River.

Robert Quinn was born and raised on the family farm located on the Wynoochee River. He later moved to Montesano with his mother, brothers, and sisters. After high school, he worked in the logging industry. From there, he went on to work for Interstate Asphalt and later for Lakeside Industries as the Superintendent, retiring in 1990.

Bob Quinn married Maxine Lindley on May 7, 1960, and would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in May. They raised their three children in Brady, on the family farm. They later moved to Glenn Road just outside of Montesano, where he built and operated a custom sawmill. Bob also enjoyed working with all kinds of machinery and heavy equipment.

Bob Quinn was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed trapping beaver, fishing, and elk hunting up the Black Creek with his brother-in-law Jim Lindley and nephews. He also enjoyed working outdoors with his grandson Noah, mowing lawns, and putting his homemade wood splitter to use.

Bob Quinn was known for having a gruff exterior, but was a teddy bear underneath. He left his children and grandchildren with wonderful memories.

Bob is survived by his wife Maxine J. Quinn of Montesano; daughters Suzie (Dr. Tony) Jones of Laurel, Md. and Dianne Quinn of Montesano, Wash.; sister Melba Whitehall of Montesano, Wash.; and daughter-in-law Renee Quinn of Montesano, Wash. Along with six grandchildren Sarah Pine, Savannah Pine, Ashley (Jerry) Buller, Lyndsy Quinn, Noah Quinn, and Hannah Quinn; and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his son Larry R. Quinn in July 2013.

A Celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 9, 2017, at The Montesano Moose Lodge, 3 Monte Elma Road.
