Ryan James Loomis, 43, a lifetime Grays Harbor resident and former HVAC installer, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at his home in Aberdeen, Washington.
Ryan was born on May 5, 1980, to parents Glen and Julie (Burtch) Loomis of Aberdeen, Washington. Ryan attended Aberdeen schools and as a child, was a junior soldier in the Salvation Army. He graduated from JM Weatherwax in 1999. He entered the workforce as a HVAC technician and installer. He worked with Robbins Air Inc. for many years. Ryan also lived in Reno, Nevada for 4 years, working in HVAC with Holiday Parks and trimming trees before moving back to the Harbor. Later on, he enrolled in the welding program at Grays Harbor College.
On April 23, 2005, Ryan and Courtney (Williams) Bryant welcomed a baby girl, Emma, to the world. He continued with work and being with his family and friends. He spent most of his life in the Wishkah Valley area, and for a short time lived in Auburn, Washington; however, he loved the Harbor and small-town living. Ryan later began working as a handyman for Tim Conell doing various jobs. He was a hard worker, and loved what he did.
Ryan was a member of the Local 66; Sheet Metal Workers Union; and proud member of local 12-step programs. He enjoyed helping others and making new friendships.
Ryan loved skateboarding, one of his many hobbies. He and two other friends helped in making the Aberdeen Skatepark come to fruition. He enjoyed music, Guns N Roses was his favorite band. He loved animals, especially sloths. He loved hanging with his parents, fishing, chores, and working on motors with his dad, and playing Jeopardy with his mom. He was always trying to best her. He appreciated football, and rejoiced in camping, and his family camping trips to the Wynoochee Dam for over 40 years. Ryan was always on a mission to find the perfect chicken fried steak! Ryan was a funny jovial soul. He was very easy to be around, and you couldn’t help but to love him. He had a huge heart and would help anyone he could. He is loved by so many and will forever be missed.
Ryan is survived by his daughter, Emma, of Billings, Montana; parents: Glen and Julie Loomis, of Aberdeen, Washington; sister, Shannon (Trent) Moore, of Rochester, Washington; nephews: Gavin and Landon; uncles: Bill Loomis, Ron Loomis, and James Burtch; aunt, Norma Loomis; forever friends who were more like brothers: Jason Gran and Jon Bradley; as well as many cousins; and numerous other family and friends whom Ryan loved dearly.
A small private family memorial service will be held. A public celebration of life will be held in February. The details are being planned and will be announced at a later date. The family has asked in lieu of flowers that donation be made to PAWS of Grays Harbor, The Salvation Army, and/or the YMCA of Grays Harbor. Arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home of Aberdeen, Washington.
