Elma and Montesano won in sweeping fashion over league opponents as we review a weekend full of prep baseball on the Harbor.
Elma 5, Hoquiam 3
Elma scored four runs over the final three innings to beat Hoquiam 5-3 in the first game of a double header on Saturday at Olympic Stadium in Hoquiam.
The Eagles (2-1 overall, 2-0 1A Evergreen) trailed 3-1 after four innings as Hoquiam (0-3. 0-2) scored three runs on a bases-clearing double by Chris Bryson in the bottom of the fourth.
Elma scratched across a run each in the fourth and fifth innings to tie the game and took the lead on TJ Dunlap’s two-run double in the sixth.
Eastin Wright turned a leadoff single into a “Little League home run” after a Hoquiam error allowed Wright to come all the way around to score, staking Elma to a 5-3 lead.
Grant Vessey earned the win, pitching three scoreless innings in relief of starter Cam Green (4 IP, 3ER, 2H, 5K, 2BB).
Elma’s Isaac McGaffey went 2-for-3 with a double and run scored to lead the Eagles.
Bryson had two doubles and three RBI for the Grizzlies.

Elma completed a double-header sweep of Hoquiam with a 12-0 win in six innings on Saturday in Hoquiam.
The Eagles led 5-0 after three innings, highlighted by an RBI double by Bo Muller in the top of the second and a two-out run-scoring single by TJ Dunlap in the third.
Elma put the game in 10-run rule territory with six runs in the sixth, taking a 12-0 lead on a two-run single by Cole Gustafson.
Brody Palmer picked up the victory, allowing no runs on three hits with a pair of walks and five strikeouts in four innings pitched.
Dunlap, Carter Studer, Gustafson, Grant Vessey and Palmer each had multi-hit games for an Eagles squad that had 14 hits and drew six walks in the game.
Elma hosts Castle Rock at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
Hoquiam plays at Black Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
The Grizzlies take on Castle Rock at 4 p.m. on Wednesday in Hoquiam.

Montesano took advantage of Eatonville mistakes in an 11-1 win in first game of a double header on Saturday at Vessey Field in Montesano.
The Bulldogs (4-1, 3-0 1A Evergreen) took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first on a Jaxson Wilson RBI single followed later by Wilson scoring on a passed ball.
With two outs and none on base in the bottom of the fourth, two walks and a Tyson Perry single loaded the bases for Toren Crites, who drove in two runs with a single to center field.
Monte walked off with a mercy-rule victory with seven runs in the fifth, highlighted by two-run doubles off the bats of Cam Taylor and Tucker Eaton.
Taylor earned the win, allowing an unearned run on one hit, a walk and four strikeouts in five innings pitched.
Wilson went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI to lead Monte.

Montesano completed a twin-bill sweep with a 10-3 victory over Eatonville in the nightcap.
The Bulldogs scored five in the first innings with just one hit, taking advantage of three walks, a hit batsman, a wild pitch and an error.
Monte pulled off nearly the same feat in the fourth inning, scoring three runs on a walk, a hit batter, a passed ball, a wild pitch and a two-run single off the bat of Jaxson Wilson.
The Bulldogs scored a pair of runs in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Tyce Peterson and a passed ball to score Tyson Perry.
Montesano pitcher Caden Grubb earned the win for Monte, allowing three runs – none earned – on four hits with a walk and four strikeouts in four innings pitched.
Monte relievers John Griffin (IP, 0R, 0H, K) and Kolson Hendrickson (2 IP, 0R, H, 3K, BB) combined to throw three scoreless innings.
Monte’s offense drew seven walks and benefited from four Cruisers errors.
The Bulldogs host University Prep at 5 p.m. on Monday.

Ocosta opened its season with a 10-7 victory over Onalaska on Saturday at Onalaska High School.
The Wildcats (1-0) scored five runs in the top of the third highlighted by a two-run double off the bat of Andrew Martin.
After the Loggers tied the game with four runs in the bottom of the third, Ocosta responded with three in the fourth on on a Martin RBI single, a Torence Bonina sacrifice fly and an error allowing Mark Sevilla to score.
Leading 8-6 entering the sixth, Ocosta’s Dominick Hanson-Miranda doubled home Bryce Bottleson and Logan White to put the Wildcats up 10-6.
Ocosta used six different pitchers in the seven-inning game, which combined allowed four hits while striking out 14, but also surrendered 12 walks.
Caden Arbona earned the win, allowing one earned run on one hit and a pair of walks with four strikeouts.
The Wildcats host North Beach for a double header slated to begin at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
