Bulldogs sweep Beavers
TENINO — Montesano’s Samantha Stanfield and Annie Cristelli tossed back-to-back perfect games to help lift the Bulldogs to victory in an Evergreen 1A League doubleheader on Monday.
The Bulldogs defeated the Beavers 21-0 in the first game behind eight strikeouts from Stanfield before blasting past the Beavers 15-0 in the nightcap behind five strikeouts from Cristelli.
Stanfield and Cristelli also helped their causes at the plate, each hitting a home run in each of the two games. Montesano’s Allyssa Gustafson belted two home runs in the first game, finishing with five RBIs in the contest.
“It was nice to see the girls be patient at the plate and drive the ball,” Montesano head coach Pat Pace said. “It was really nice to see Sam and Annie come out and throw two perfect games. There are a lot of things that can happen to prevent a perfect game, no matter what team you are playing, and it was pretty cool to watch that happen tonight.”
Montesano is scheduled to host Elma today.
Elma’s junior varsity defeated Montesano’s C-squad 10-4 on Monday.

Fishermen 22, Hyaks 4
ILWACO — Ilwaco put up double digits in the first and second inning to roll past North Beach in a Pacific 2B League game on Monday.
Despite having just one more hit than the Hyaks, the Fishermen took advantage of 19 walks to put up 10 runs in the first inning and 12 runs in the second inning and take down North Beach in three innings.
North Beach (6-2, 10-4) travels to Oakville on Wednesday.

Elks 7, Warriors 1
PUYALLUP — Lake Quinault grabbed an early lead and used solid pitching to defeat Chief Leschi in a non-league game on Monday.
The Elks held the Warriors to just one hit on the night.
“Our defense really stepped up and played well,” Lake Quinault head coach Keith Samplawski said. “Probably one of the best defensive games we’ve had all year. Having three different pitcher combine for only one hit, we were pretty happy with that too.”
Samplawski cited Jesus Mendoza for his performance.
The Elks host Naselle on Wednesday.

Bobcats 94, Warriors 37
Aberdeen’s MacKayla Waltee and Emily May both scored in the 20s to help lead Aberdeen past Rochester in an Evergreen 2A League match at Grays Harbor Country Club on Monday.
Waltee posted a score of 25 to earn medalist honors for the match, while May posted a 23 for the Bobcats.
“We sure are learning to play in the rain and soggy conditions,” Aberdeen head coach Dan Sundstrom said. “MacKayla is striking the ball really well right now and her high scores are showing it. This was Emily’s best score of the season.”
Aberdeen travels to Riverside Golf Course to face Centralia on Friday.
