Carlos “Freddie” Fredrick Drake, of Hoquiam, passed away at Harbor Regional Health on May 31st, 2024. He was 77 years old.
Freddie was born on January 2nd, 1947 in Aberdeen, Washington to parents Carlos Fredrick Drake Sr. and Catherine Drake (Coombs). He graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1966 before going on to work at Hoquiam Veneer and Pettit Oil, retiring in 2001 due to medical issues. He and his former wife, Marilyn, were married in 1969 and had two sons together, Michael and Timothy. He immensely enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events including baseball, football, and soccer. He was also well known as being “The Old Guy Waving At All Of The Cars On Lincoln Street.”
Freddie is preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Catherine Drake; and brother, Russell “Russ” Drake.
He is survived by his sons, Michael “Mike” (Susan) Drake and Timothy “Tim” (Kelly) Drake; brothers Rodney “Rod” Drake and David (Shawnie) Drake; sister, Karla Drake; grandchildren, Allison “Allie” Drake, Austin Drake, Devin Drake, Cody Drake, Tasha Parris, and Katy Parris; and ten wonderful great-grandchildren.
There will be a graveside burial service held at Sunset Memorial Park in Hoquiam on July 12th, 2024 at 1 p.m.
Memorial donations can be made to the Hoquiam Little League, the Hoquiam Loggers Playday, or the Hoquiam High School class of 1966.
