William Pete “Bill” Priamos Jr., 82, former owner and baker of Bill’s XL Bakery in Hoquiam, passed away Monday morning, July 1, 2024, at his home in Montesano.
Bill was born on December 10, 1941, in Seattle, Washington to William Pete and Edna Adeline (Mjelde) Priamos Sr. When he was 13, his parents purchased Link’s XL Bakery in Hoquiam and changed the name to Bill’s XL Bakery.
Bill graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1960 and then attended Grays Harbor College, followed by Clover Park Vocational/Technical School in Tacoma and specialized in Broadcast Radio. Bill worked for many of the radio stations on the Harbor, as well as, a radio station in Raymond, Washington.
On June 26, 1965 Bill married Patricia Mae Porter of Aberdeen. She currently resides in the family home in Montesano.
Bill worked for Swansons in Hoquiam before leaving the grocery business to help his mother at the bakery when his father passed. Bill owned and operated the bakery until his retirement in 2006.
Bill trusted Jesus as his Savior and was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist church in Hoquiam for 54 years.
His hobbies included spending time with his family and playing all kinds of card games, especially Pinnacle.
Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia Priamos; two sons; Cary Allen (Anna) Priamos of Aberdeen and Christopher Michael Priamos of Hoquiam; two daughters; Carmen (Steve) Wilkinson of North Stonington, Connecticut and Cheree Frederickson of Montesano; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of William’s life on Saturday, July 6, at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church in Hoquiam. Bill will be inurned with his father and mother at Sunset Memorial Park in Hoquiam.
