Montesano 3, Black Hills 0

Montesano picked up a non-league road victory with a 3-0 win over Black Hills on Tuesday in Tumwater.

The Bulldogs (3-1 overall) won 25-8, 25-16 and 25-15.

Monte was led by senior setter/outside hitter Karissa Otterstetter, who once again filled up the stat sheet with 13 digs, seven kills, two blocks and a team-best 20 assists.

The Bulldogs had contributions from all areas of the court and showed a dynamic offense as sophomore setter Mekena Blancas’ entrance into the rotation allowed Otterstetter to play different positions.

“The girls showed up ready to play tonight. They did a great job attacking and hitting the ball hard,” Monte head coach Cindy Wecker said. “We were able to use Blancas to run a 6-2 in the second and third set so we could utilize Otterstetter as a hitter, which worked well. When these girls are on boy are they fun to watch.”

Bulldogs outside hitter Kaila Hatton had a team high nine kills and four blocks to go along with 21 digs while teammate Liv Robinson had 21 digs and six kills.

Middle blocker Kylee Wisdom was a perfect 21 for 21 from the service line with three aces for Monte.
