Marilyn Marie Stair died at the age of 92 on Sept. 16, 2024, in Colfax, Washington.
Marilyn was born Aug. 2, 1932, in Danzig, North Dakota to Lydia (Nills) Brinkman and Amos Brinkman.
Her family owned and operated a grocery store and cattle ranch. She learned to keep accurate, detailed records for her dad buying and selling cattle at the sales.
She moved to Vancouver, Washington in 1952, where she met Robert Stair. They were engaged within three weeks, married within six, and celebrated 64 years of marriage before his death in 2016.
Marilyn and Bob lived and worked in Arizona, Forks, and Westport, Washington before Marilyn retired as office manager from Washington Crab. Bob and Marilyn kept their home in Westport as a homebase while they had many adventurous road trips with friends.
In 2017, Marilyn moved to Colfax, Washington and enjoyed making new friends at Hillray Plaza and The Courtyard.
Marilyn is survived by daughters Lynn (Nelson) and Jill (Whelchel), sons-in-law Randy Whelchel and Steve Peterson, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Marilyn’s family will celebrate her life and bid her farewell in Westport at a later date.
