William “Bill” Kenneth Gray, 70, Montesano resident and former truck driver, passed away on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, at his home in Montesano, Washington.
Bill was born on April 2, 1954, to Kenneth and Delores (Belland) Gray in Shelton, Washington. The youngest of 2 children, Bill graduated from Shelton High School in 1972. He then went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from The Evergreen State College. Bill married his first wife, and they welcomed their only son, Corbett Gray in November 1986. The couple later divorced. In 1991, Bill married his true love, Paula Gray on Aug. 16, 1991, in Seattle, Washington. Bill worked as a short haul truck driver, working for various companies such as Rontra Trucking for many years and Conway trucking for quite some time. Bill later began working with The City of Seattle where he retired in 2023. After retirement, he and Paula moved to their forever home in Montesano, Washington.
Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved his fishing trips with his older brother, John. Bill enjoyed working his hands and working on various projects, whether it be new or old. He loved his Harley’s and taking them out for a ride throughout the Peninsula and Western Washington especially while listening to classic rock. Bill had a love for most engines, enjoying motorcycles and all models and makes of cars.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Delores Gray; and brother, John Gray.
Bill is survived by his wife of 33 years, Paula (Bilsland) Gray, of the family home; son, Corbett Gray, of Seattle, Washington; sister-in-law, Annette Gray, of Katy, Texas; nieces: Elizabeth “Lizzie” Gray and Mary (Richard) Maldonado; nephew, Kenneth Gray; and many extended family and friends who loved and cared for Bill.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024 at 1 p.m. located in the chapel of Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
