Barbara Ann Wetzel passed away on Oct. 5, 2024, at the age of 83, in Puyallup, Washington. Born on Oct. 13, 1940, Barbara grew up to be an exemplary figure, known for her unconditional love, strength of spirit, and unending generosity.
She was a beloved wife, mother, nana, and friend who dedicated her life to caring for her family and enriching the lives of others.
She graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1959, carrying with her the fond memories and lessons learned during those formative years.
Barbara spent many fruitful years at the Hoquiam School District, where she was cherished for her creativity and enthusiasm in the classroom, making learning a fun and engaging experience for her students.
Barbara is survived by her husband Gary Wetzel, daughters Keriann Cockrell and Kristin Wetzel, and grandchildren Rhyan Cockrell, Quintin Cockrell, and Griffin Swanson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Daisy Goldsmith, and her brother Richard Goldsmith.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Sunday, Nov. 3, at 12:30 p.m. at the Cockrell Cider Farm, located at 6613 114th Ave Court East, Puyallup, Washington.
Friends, family, and those whose lives were touched by Barbara are welcome to join in celebrating her remarkable life and legacy.
