Sue Alstrom, 77, died of cancer at her home in Belfair, Washington on Oct. 13, 2024. She would say she grew us as a city girl but lived most of her years enjoying being a country farm girl. Sue was born April 18, 1947, in Aberdeen, Washington to Mildred and Clifford Henderson. As Sue J. Henderson she attended Weatherwax Senior High School in Aberdeen, graduating in 1965. She married her high school sweetheart Ted Alstrom in January 1967.

Sue attended the Olympic College nursing program and graduated in 1971. As a Registered Nurse she went to work at Mason General Hospital in Shelton, Washington and retired after 34 years.

The couple made their home in Belfair since 1971. She enjoyed traveling around the USA and Victoria, B.C., Canada. In 1984 they moved to their farm, and she enjoyed their gardens, horses, sheep, chickens, cats and dogs. She enjoyed riding her horses, spinning her sheep’s wool, and knitting and weaving the yarn; and she was also an avid paperback book reader.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years Theodore E. Alstrom, her cousin-sister Joan Ketola and numerous in-laws, cousin, nieces and nephews.

A memorial will be announced at a later time.
