First round state football playoff pairings announced

Aberdeen hosts Columbia River on Tuesday; Elma, Montesano in action next weekend

The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association announced the seeds and pairings for the first round of the state tournaments set to begin this weekend.

6 p.m. Tuesday at Stewart Field, Aberdeen

Winner to play at Franklin Pierce likely on Saturday.

2 p.m. Saturday at Jack Rottle Field, Montesano

Time, location to be determined as administrators work to find a suitable field.

Coupeville-Friday Harbor winner at Pe Ell-Willapa Valley

PWV will host the winner of the Coupeville versus Friday Harbor 2B play-in game that is scheduled for Monday. Time, date, location of the Titans’ first-round game to be determined.
