Alec William Pugh passed away peacefully at his home in Montesano on Oct. 24, 2024. He was 59 years young.
Alec was born on Jan. 11, 1965 in Pomeroy, Washington to parents George William Pugh and Nancy Elaine (Casteel) Pugh. Alec grew up in Poulsbo, Washington graduating from North Kitsap High School in 1983. He graduated in 1988 with a degree in education from Western Washington University. He went on to Seattle Pacific University for a Master’s Degree in administration. He had a 32 year career as a coach/educator/administrator, 10 years in the Central Kitsap School District and the last 22 of those years serving as the well loved and revered school administrator at Montesano Junior/Senior High School. On July 7, 2008, he married the love of his life, Dana Michelle (Baker) at Wailea Beach in Maui, Hawaii. Together, they raised two wonderful daughters, Carly and Jordan.
When Alec wasn’t wandering the halls or attending sporting events at Montesano Jr./Sr. High school, he loved a good round of golf with friends, a relaxing afternoon on the beaches of Hawaii, Christina Lake B.C. and a good cup of morning coffee.
Alec is survived by his wife, Dana Pugh; father, George Pugh (GW) of Poulsbo; daughters, Carly Spradlin of Denver, Colorado, and Jordan Spradlin of Ellensburg; twin brother Kent Pugh of Poulsbo and Brad Pugh of Puyallup; sisters-in-law, Laurie Pugh and Stephanie Pugh; niece, Kiley Pugh; and nephew, Ryan Pugh.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Elaine Pugh August 2020.
A celebration of life service will be held in the Montesano High School gymnasium Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024 at 2 p.m.
