Mitchell Roy Stankwitz, age 65, a resident of the Lake Quinault area, died on May 21, 2017, surrounded by loved ones at Grays Harbor Community Hospital. Mitchell Stankwitz was born on Sept. 5, 1951, in Paradise, Calif., to Henry and Nellie Mae Stankwitz.

Surviving relatives include three sons and their families, Anthony Stankwitz of Montesano, Wash., Jerad Stankwitz of Wasco, Ore. and Jeramy Gilroy of Chewelah, Wash. He is also survives by three sisters, Nellie Adams of Lake Quinault, Wash., Bridget Allen of Lyle, Wash., and Cheryl Ann Racine of Marysville, Wash. A brother, Michael Stankwitz, preceded him in death.

There will be a celebration of life service for all of his family and friends at the Lake Quinault Valley Chapel in Neilton, Wash., at 1 p.m., on Saturday, June 3, 2017.

Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary, 422 – 5th Street in Hoquiam. Wash.
