City of Aberdeen hospitality business relief grant applications available now

Applications for a share of $90,000 in City of Aberdeen grants for hospitality businesses that suffered losses due to COVID-related shutdowns and restrictions are available now, with priority given to those submitted by Feb. 19.

The Aberdeen City Council approved a total of $100,000 of city general fund money for the grant program in January. Grants are available to businesses like restaurants, breweries and those related to tourism, events and transportation. The council later that month approved a contract with Greater Grays Harbor Inc. to administer the grants for a 10% fee, leaving the $90,000 for grants of no more than $6,000 to qualified businesses.

Eligible businesses must have been under the same ownership since Jan. 1, 2020, be located in the city of Aberdeen with a current business license, and have a permanent storefront with walk-in facilities. Non-profit organizations are not eligible for this grant.

The two-page application, which includes the full list of requirements, can be accessed at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/AberdeenRelief. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis with priority review for applications received by end of business Feb. 19.
