Levee Lumber locations in Hoquiam and Westport are undergoing some big changes, and the Ocean Shores store has been sold to Arrow Lumber, according to the company.
In July, Levee Lumber announced on its web site that the Hoquiam store would “continue to offer traditional hardware items but will be changing its primary focus to feed and pet supplies.” Free local delivery from the Hoquiam store will be “available soon,” according to the site.
The Westport location will see an increase in inventory “to better serve the South Beach area with building materials, hardware, feed and pet products,” and also will soon be offering free local delivery, the company said in the same post.
The Ocean Shores location officially became Arrow Lumber & Hardware Aug. 23.
“As of today, Levee Lumber Ocean Shores is no longer. Arrow Lumber is now in that location,” stated a post on the Levee Lumber Facebook page. Levee Lumber had previously announced in July that Arrow, based in Buckley, would retain the current Ocean Shores staff.
“We also want to thank all of our employees who worked for us at Ocean Shores and Hoquiam who are now at Arrow Lumber,” continued the Aug. 23 post. “Arrow is truly fortunate to have you and we will definitely miss all of you.”
Tom Lane, who has spent 41 years with Levee Lumber, is one of the employees who has transitioned from the Hoquiam store to the Ocean Shores Arrow Lumber store. Tom’s wife, Lorrie, posted on her Facebook page Aug. 22, “This is a very positive move for him. He had a long career with Levee.”
“This opportunity to grow our business even more is a very proud moment in Arrow Lumber’s history,” said Barney Wagner, Arrow’s founder. The store will hold a grand opening later in September, according to the statement.
