Rayonier Inc. announced the award of more than $35,000 to area organizations serving Olympic Peninsula communities. Recipients of the company’s Community Fund grants were recently recognized at special breakfast hosted by Rayonier in Aberdeen earlier this month.
The Rayonier Community Fund supports a variety of educational, civic, cultural and natural resources programs.
“Rayonier is proud to call Grays Harbor and Clallam County home for our 24 Washington-based employees for 90 years,” said Bill Monahan, Rayonier Pacific Resource Unit leader, speaking to the 2016 grant recipients. “We especially look forward to this gathering each year when we get to thank you, your staff, and volunteers for your important work that helps make our community a better place to live and work.”
Rayonier representatives from Forks and Hoquiam and Fernandina Beach, Fla., were present to congratulate and thank those receiving grants.
The following local organizations were among those that received support from Rayonier as part of its 2016 Community Fund program: Children’s Advocacy Center of Grays Harbor, Citizens for Children’s Fund, Coastal Community Action Program, Coastal Harvest, Grays Harbor County CASA, Greater Grays Harbor Inc., Grays River Grange No. 124, Multi-Care Health Foundation, Pacific Education Institute, Polson Park &Museum Historical Society, United Way of Grays Harbor, Washington Log-A-Load for Kids Program-Seattle Children’s Hospital, Agriculture and Forestry Education Foundation and Camp Victory.
