Timberland Bank’s downtown Aberdeen branch to begin renovation

Timberland Bank will soon undertake a full-scale renovation and expansion of its downtown Aberdeen branch, Michael R. Sand, President and CEO of Timberland Bank, said in an announcement Friday.

The building, located at the corner of Broadway and 1st Street, was formerly shared with Olympic Realty. Since Olympic Realty recently relocated, Timberland is taking the opportunity to expand into the additional space and modernize its downtown office.

Business at this location continues to grow steadily and the remodel will add room to provide a more open and accessible lobby area for our clients, the announcement said.

Local contractor, Rognlins, Inc., was selected to be the general contractor for the project and work is set to begin in mid-June. During the remodeling, the bank will maintain its regular hours, Sand said.

“The renovation of our downtown Aberdeen branch reaffirms our commitment to the downtown core and emphasizes our commitment to the continued growth of local banking in our community,” Sand continued. “We look forward to announcing a date in late fall to host an open house for customers and other members of our community.”

Timberland has 22 locations across six counties of Western Washington. Last week the Bank announced an agreement to acquire South Sound Bank of Olympia. That acquisition awaits regulatory approval but is anticipated to close in the fourth quarter of this year.
