We’re extremely fortunate to have among us a truly qualified professional ready to fill retiring Superior Court Judge Michael J. Sullivan’s big shoes.
I’m referring to Douglas E. Goelz!
Doug Goelz has the education, experience and commitment to community that will serve well everyone in Pacific and Wahkiakum counties. He’s a University of Puget Sound Law School grad (1975), followed by a successful law private practice initially in Tacoma and for the past 36 years in Long Beach. Extensive and broad judicial experience has prepared Goelz for the awesome responsibility that naturally goes with our Superior Court.
In addition to being elected South District Court Judge, Goelz has served as municipal court judge and superior court commissioner. Further, he’s appeared as a lawyer before the Washington State Court of Appeals and the Washington Supreme Court. He’s served us well as deputy prosecutor and public defender. And Goelz was elected by his peers to the board of the statewide Judge’s Association.
By all measures Goelz’s professional experience places him at the top of the class. But equally important are his contributions as a community leader. For many years he’s generously shared his personal talents by organizing youth sports and the Ilwaco High School Sports Boosters. He’s served as volunteer judge for the YMCA high school trial completion in Olympia.
Goelz will bring his proven professional expertise to our Superior Court bench. But equally important, he’ll bring a larger than life slice of humanity to our bench. Goelz represents an all-in-one package. Make your ballot count big time by voting for Douglas E. Goelz!
